Carrie Olivia Adams lives in Chicago, where she is a book publicist for the University of Chicago Press and the poetry editor for Black Ocean. She is the author of Forty-One Jane Doe’s (book and companion DVD, Ahsahta 2013), Intervening Absence (Ahsahta 2009), and the chapbook “A Useless Window.”

Listeners of Jim Green’s music quickly realize, this musician is not bound by the usual sonic possibilities of the acoustic guitar. Weaving between musical genres such as Folk, Blues and New Age, Green creates enchanting soundscapes to percussively driven fingerstyle songs that fully illustrate his uniqueness in the world of guitar players. He is a 2004 Guitar Idol Champion and has been named One of the best independent artists in the Midwest by the Editors of Billboard Magazine.

Adrian Matejka’s first collection of poems, The Devil’s Garden, won the 2002 New York / New England Award from Alice James Books. His second collection, Mixology, was a winner of the 2008 National Poetry Series and was published by Penguin in 2009. Mixology was subsequently nominated for an NAACP Image Award. His new collection, The Big Smoke, was published by Penguin in May 2013. He is the recipient of two Illinois Arts Council Literary Awards and fellowships from Cave Canem and the Lannan Foundation. His work has appeared in American Poetry ReviewThe Best American PoetryGulf CoastPoetryPloughshares, and Prairie Schooner among other journals and anthologies.
