We have three events coming right up this fine month of December.

First, a fundraiser for the local nonprofit organization Life’s Transitions Inc.

This event is a FREE 2 hours of local poetry and a portion of the proceeds from food sales for the night will go to Life’s Transitions Inc.

Second, the Racine Public Library is hosting a book reception, reading and signing for myself and another fantastic poet from Chicago:

RECEPTION, READING & BOOK SIGNING

NICK DEMSKE AND PETER O’LEARY

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 11th
RACINE PUBLIC LIBRARY
75 7TH STREET
RACINE, WI
reception starts at 5:30, reading starts at 6:30

This is planned to be a monumental event.  Beloved friend of BONK!, BRENT MITCHELL, will be playing music during the reception, food and refreshments will be provided by Circa Celeste cafe and there will be a Social Justice and Literary organization fair before and after the reading, with local literary journals and fair trade items for sale.  Please come to this event.  We anticipate around 100 people in attendance, so come early to get good parking, seats and food!

Last but not least, the ultimate BONK! event of 2010:

BONK! 27
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18th
RACINE ARTS COUNCIL
310 6TH STREET
RACINE, WI
6PM (doors open 5:30)

Featuring:

John Sierpinski

Abraham Smith

Mallory Whitefoot

This month BONK! welcomes two fantastic local talents, as well as Abraham Smith from Alabama.  If you were there for Abe’s reading at the RPL last year, you know exactly why we’re having him back. He’s one of the most dynamic readers of poetry out there today.  You put that together with the work of John Sierpinski and the music of Mallory Whitefoot, and you’ve got an incredible event to close out the year with.

Happy almost winter everyone.  Stave of stir-craziness a little longer this year and come see all these fantastic events.

See you all there!
